About the Festival

The Spring of 2009, Riverview Park and Zoo will play host to over 2,000 students, teachers and parent helpers from across the City and County of Peterborough! 500 volunteers will be on hand over the two days to deliver the fun and excitement of the Festival.

The PCWF presents many pertinent issues related to water conservation, source protection, drinking water, and wastewater treatment. Students participate in a series of hands-on activity centres to learn about water while having fun!

Why is the Festival Important?

We all know water is important, but very few of us are aware of how our everyday actions can affect the quality and longevity of this precious resource. The Festival is an educational experience that brings students outside the classroom and teaches them important water concepts in ways that they can easily understand and remember. And, because it is such an enjoyable experience, students retain what they learn and pass this knowledge on.
