What to Expect - Peterborough Childrens Water Festival, Peterborough Ontario

To help you understand what a typical day at the Festival is like, we have provided an itinerary and list of tips for volunteers.

Itinerary

8:00 a.m.	arrive at park and meet at welcoming tent check in and meet your activity partner and locate your activity try the activity and get comfortable with how it works
9:15 - 9:30 a.m.	elementary students arrive and get oriented
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.	students visit activity centres
11:30 - 12:00 a.m.	lunch is provided to volunteers at main registration tent
12:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.	return to your activity students continue to visit activity centres
2:30 p.m.	clean-up station and take inventory advise Festival Staff of any malfunctioning activity or low stock return to registration area for quick wrap-up meeting fill out volunteer evaluation form

Volunteer Tips

Wear comfortable shoes and/or bring an extra pair.
Wear clothing that a PCWF apron can fit over. You will receive one when you arrive to help identify you as a volunteer.
Dress in layers for the weather. The Festival and activities continue rain or shine.

Lunch is provided, but no other food is sold on-site. You are welcome to bring litterless snacks.
Coffee is provided throughout the morning. Please bring a refillable travel mug.

Please Note: The activity centres can be messy. Please bring a change of clothing.
